About The Acting Career Center

Welcome, my fellow actor. My name is Kurt Yue and I'm the founder of The Acting Career Center. Do you ever ask yourself these questions:

  • What do I need to do to become a working actor in film and television?
  • How can I make my auditions stand out so that casting directors will take notice?
  • How do I get a talent agent if I don't have any experience?
  • Where can I find auditions on my own if I don't currently have an agent?
  • How do I start making money from acting so I can turn my hobby into a career?

If so, you've come to the right place! Too many actors end up guessing what to do. Or they get their information from people who aren't really plugged into the industry.

Then they find themselves wasting a bunch of time and money when they could have been taking real action steps to move their careers forward. Let's make sure that doesn't happen to you.

Whether you're a complete beginner or have been at it for years but are feeling stuck, you probably want to improve your skills and expand your knowledge to take your career to the next level. I want to help you do just that.

And I have more good news for you. There is no better time than now to pursue acting.

How The Acting Career Center Can Help

We live in an unprecedented age of film and television.  When I was a kid, my first TV had eight channels.

Today, with hundreds of cable channels, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Disney+, and new streaming services popping up left and right, the amount of content being created is through the roof.

And because of that, the demand for talented actors has never been greater.

But where are these opportunities? Are you getting them? And if so, are you making the most of each one?

You may already have some acting training, perhaps even A LOT of acting training. If that's the case, your acting ability may not be what's holding you back.

It could be your lack of knowledge about the business, how to get in front of decision makers, and how to translate your acting ability into booking ability. You need to understand all the inner workings of this industry before you can conquer it.

Your acting classes have taught you how to act. Let me teach you how to start making money from acting.

Here's a way I can help you right now. I've put together a free guide that explains the 10-step process I use to create a memorable (and bookable) on-camera audition. Check it out:

About Kurt Yue

In 2008, I was working full time as a software developer at a Fortune 500 company. I was following the exact career path that was laid out for me since my second year of college.

Yes, I was living the cubicle life, but the pay was good, the benefits were nice, and I really had very little to complain about.

Later that year, when I enrolled in my first ever acting class, I wasn't seeking a career change, I was simply looking for something fun to do after work.

Well, that class at The Houde School of Acting in Cleveland, Ohio turned out to be much more than "something fun to do after work." It completely changed my life.

One year later, I signed with my first talent agency and started auditioning for (and booking) local commercials and corporate training videos. By 2014, I had quit my software job and in 2016, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue more film and television work.

That move turned out to be a good one. I have since worked on dozens of movies and television shows alongside OSCAR winners, Emmy winners, and many other accomplished actors.

Every time I'm on set with such talented individuals, it's a masterclass in acting and the career. I'm just there soaking up all the knowledge. Knowledge that I want to share with you, here, at The Acting Career Center.

I don’t consider myself some sort of acting guru, there are no magic bullets or miracle potions here. My techniques are not "acting secrets!" and I definitely don’t teach “how to be famous!” scams – far from it actually.

Creating a lasting career as an actor takes a lot of hard work, a lot of patience and a little bit of luck too, although, I honestly believe we create our own luck.

I’m here to inspire you to put in the work, pursue your dreams, and achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself.

It’s been a wild and rewarding ride for me so far, and I firmly believe that the best is yet to come. So excited to have you join me on this journey!
